Ramon M. Garcia, 77, of Waco, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2005 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. A procession will depart the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday for an 11:00 a.m. mass at St. Frances Catholic Church with Father Fernando Hernandez officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors with a rosary to be recited at 7pm. Ramon was born on July 1, 1927 to Policarpio and Cecilia Garcia in Big Spring, Texas. Ramon was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by six sons; grandson Albert Ramon Smithwick Garcia and sisters Teresa Garcia Luna and Jesus Olguin. Survivors include his wife of 55 years Lupe Garcia of Waco; son John Garcia and his wife Irene of Waco; daughters Mary Grace Zarraga and her husband Baltazar of Waco, Marisa Soliz and her husband Robert of Houston, Maria Smithwick, Rosie Garcia and Rebecca Sardaneta all of Waco; sister Paz Ovalle of Dallas; grandchildren Joe Zarraga and his wife Kristin, Myra Zarraga and her husband Javier, Lorenzo Garcia, Juan Garcia, Jr., Cecilia Garcia, Ramon Andres Garcia, Pascual Garcia, James Smithwick Garcia, John Smithwick Garcia, Anthony Sardaneta and his wife Valarie all of Waco, Robert Soliz, Jr., Alexis Soliz and Serenity Soliz all of Houston and numerous nieces and nephews.
