Pioquinta Roque Fuentes passed away peacefully June 7, 2006 after 92 years of a wonderful life. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Manuel Fuentes, daughters Isabel Escauriza, Ruby Fuentes all in Spring TX; Sara and devoted son-in-law Robert Henson in Montgomery, TX; grandson Ricky Escauriza also in Spring; granddaughter Veronica and husband Jose Cardenas in Downey CA; sisters Mary Reyes in Houston, TX; Julie Gurziek in Florida; brother Ersey Roque in Michigan; numerous nieces and nephews; caregiver Carmen Flores; and special pet Pancho. Pioquinta was devoted to her family and children. She loved the outdoors, flower gardening, and watching birds. She was always available to help a friend, an adopted son, daughter, or family member. The Fuentes made their home in Mart, TX for forty-four years and in Spring for the past eight years. Visitation will be held 6:00-9:00 pm Friday June 9 with Rosary at 7:30 at Connelly/Compton Funeral Home in Waco TX. Services are set for Saturday June 10 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.Mommy, you will be missed dearly; you will always be in our hearts; adios pajarito.
