Nancy Van Marter, 83, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in a local hospital. Graveside services will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, November 11, 2017 in Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington with the Reverend Nathan Tucker officiating. Following the graveside service the family will gather at Moore Funeral Home for a reception.

Mrs. Van Marter was born on December 18, 1933 in Syracuse, NY to Marion and Claude Wright. She graduated Central City Business Institute in 1956 with a degree in Office Administration. Mrs. Van Marter married John M. Van Marter on September 5, 1959 and they celebrated over 43 wonderful years together until his death in 2002. They moved to Arlington in 1976. She worked for Arlington ISD as a Braillist where she loved her co-workers and students. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Shannon Freeman; daughter-in-law, Sheila Van Marter and brothers, Allen Wright and Charles Wright and wife, Marion.

Survivors include her son, John R. Van Marter and his wife, Peggy of Trenton; daughter, Deborah Freeman and her husband, Gary of Waco; son, Mark Van Marter of Waco; grandchildren, John J. Van Marter and wife, Amy of Anna, Matthew Van Marter and wife, Erin of McKinney, Greg Freeman of Denton,
Shelley Freeman of Waco, Amanda Van Marter of Waco, several great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
