Lottie Mozelle Alexander Parker, left this earth on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the age of 99, having served her family and the Lord for many years.
Mozelle was born on October 31, 1923 in Groesbeck, Texas to Lela Bell Lankford and John Marvin Alexander, the oldest of six children.
She lived in Groesbeck, Texas while growing up where she graduated from Groesbeck High School. Mozelle was active in school and was a baton twirler in the band. Mozelle shared tales of her growing up years; the most memorable is of her and her best friend and cousin, Starlene Nash climbing the water tower in Groesbeck.
Mozelle met her soldier boy, John Warren Parker, and married him on April 10, 1942. They shared over 50 years together, raising 3 children, Johnny, Tommy and Sue.
A few years after the death of John W., Mozelle married Brooks Neatherlin, a longtime friend of hers and John's, until his passing and then she chose to spend the rest of her years alone.
Not only was Mozelle a loving and devoted wife and mother, she was also a school cafeteria worker, cosmetic professional, active Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary member, and a Bible teacher. She loved God's word and shared with anyone who would listen. Many a young woman's life was made better through Mozelle's teaching of God's word. She continued to teach ladies Bible classes until she was 97 years old. There was never a time that she didn't have a Bible nearby.
She is now seeing the "written word', as she studied for so many years, as she joins those who have gone before her….two husbands, a son, 2 grandsons. 2 great grandchildren, her parents, 4 siblings and many more loved ones and friends.
Mozelle leaves behind her son, Tommy Parker and wife, Charlene; daughter, Sue Parker; daughter-in-law, Karen Parker; sister, Shirley Post; sisters-in-law, Marietta Parker and Opal Alexander; grandsons, James Parker, Darrell Parker and wife, Pat, Brian Gifford and wife, Sherri, Wayne Parker and wife, Staci, Robert Parker, Keith Gifford and wife, Teresa, Hank Parker and wife, Amy; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and friends.
We would like to thank all who have been there for Mozelle, sending cards and special thoughts and prayers her way. A special thanks to our youth at New Road Church of Christ who visited her on special days and sent many cards telling her how much the loved her. She treasured those visits.
