Monta J. "Bubba" McKethan, Jr., 84, passed away October 28, 2014.Graveside Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 31, at Harris Creek Cemetery.The family will receive visitors, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 30, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors.Bubba was born in Waco, Texas on January 11, 1930 to Monta J. Sr. and Mallie LaMerle (Adams) McKethan. He enjoyed riding his horse, camping out and later in life dancing at Sul Ross Dance Club. Until lately he could dance anyone of us under the table. Bubba enjoyed friendships with many people at the Kate Ross Center.He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry McKethan and niece, Kerry Urban-Henshaw.Survivors include his sister, Lynn Urban; sister-in-law, Ruth McKethan and a host of nieces, nephews and friends from the Kate Ross Center.Pallbearers will be Grant Farek, Brad Engelbrecht, Kevin McKethan, Darren McKethan, John Dickson, and Ernest Ward. Honorary pallbearer will be J.P. Henshaw.
