Obituary

Monroe Johnson Jr. of Waco, Texas passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023. Celebration of service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 2, 2023 at the Church of the Open Door.

Monroe Johnson Jr. was born on December 17, 1954 in Waco, Texas to Monroe Johnson and Faye Davilla Garcia. He was the youngest of 5 children. He loved all of his siblings. He attended University High School (Once a Trojan, Always a Trojan). He had a love for sports, and played football, basketball and baseball. He went on to have 3 beautiful Children, He loved coaching, and helping in any sport activity, his children were involved in.

He loved the Lord, and attending church. He had numerous fur-babies over the years. He truly had a love for all animals, and cared for them like they were his own. He was a jokester, in every sense of the word. He could light up a room with jokes and laughter. He was a Major Baylor Bears fan. as well as a Dallas Cowboy fan .He loved going to restaurants and especially loved going to breakfast with his kids and sister. Most of all He loved going fishing with his son.

He is preceded in death by his parents Monroe Johnson and Faye Davilla Garcia.

Survivors include his 3 children daughter; Jennifer Arispe and husband, Michael of Robinson, son; (Monroe's very best friend) Jason Johnson of Waco, and daughter; Mariesa Deleon of Waco, siblings; Christine Dones and husband, Jose of Copperas Cove, Yvonne Draffon Perez of Hewitt, Randy Berrios and wife, Rosemary of Waco and Rita Larios of Waco and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, that he loved dearly.
