Mildred Louise Stanford, age 93 of Waco, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday,May 30, 2011. Graveside service will be Wed. June 1st at 11 AM at China Spring Cemetery with Pastor Lori Cotton officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tues. May 31, at Connally/ Compton Funeral Directors. Mildred was born on August 18, 1917 to Oscar and Nettie Summerlin Sanders in Crawford, Texas.She was a longtime resident of Waco and a member of Lake Shore Methodist Church. Mildred worked at the Boeing Aircraft Plant in Wichita, Kansas for 18 years. Mildred married Jim Stanford in June 1940 at Valley Mills, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1986. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters. Mildred leaves behind to cherish her memories are her sisters, Imogene Bass of Waco, Barbara Murphree of Valley Mills, and Dorothy Karpinsky of Waco; brothers, Robert Hamill of Delaware and Johnny Hamill of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews.
