Michael I. DeLeon, 62, of Waco, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016. A memorial service will be Sunday, July 10, 6:00 p.m., at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Dorrel officiating. Michael was born April 27, 1954 to Secundio DeLeon and Susie Martinez DeLeon. Prior to working at the World Cup Café' for five years, he was a Photo Journalist for Channel 25 News. Michael was the first photographer on site at the massacre that took place at Luby's restaurant in Killeen, Texas. Mr. DeLeon was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his brother, Arthur T. Martinez of China Springs, Texas; his sisters, Gloria Cantwell and her husband, Larry, of China Springs, Texas, Dolores Mendoza and her husband, Ricky, of Ft. Worth, Texas, Liz Gomez and her husband, Robert, of Waco, Texas; his daughters, Bridget Heins and her husband, Michael, of China Springs, Texas and Brianna DeLeon of College Station, Texas.
