Maurine W. EasterlingSeptember 27, 1923 – September 18, 2010 Maurine W. "Granny" Easterling, 86, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 18, 2010 at her home in her favorite chair. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Reverends Rebecca Hull and David Story officiating. Visitation will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the funeral home. Elise Maurine was born September 27, 1923 in Mexia, Texas to Nathaniel Stevens and Frances Williams Waller. She was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Mexia, Texas in 1936 by Herman Appleman. She married Raymond Gano Easterling on July 31, 1949. She retired from American Income Life in 1988. Maurine "Granny" will always be remembered for her devotion to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and strong faith. She had an energetic personality whose wit and generosity made her house a wonderful home. Maurine was preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel and Frances Waller; loving husband, Raymond Gano Easterling; and sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Alton Barefield. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Kathy Reamy, Kandy Money and husband, Woody, Kim Davis and husband, Larry, Raymond Easterling; grandchildren, Amanda Reamy, Jody Money, Sarah Money, Paul Davis, Mason Davis, Linda King, David Vassar and wife, Courtney, Christina Vassar, Jon Vassar and wife, Brandy; great grandchildren, Sophia and Isabella Reamy, Cayden Breland, Ashley, Haley and Addison Vassar; nieces, Linda Jordan, Carol Glassie; great nieces and nephews and their families; and many friends.
