Mary Tom Menefee, 81, of Waco, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2004 in a local hospital. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at Granbury Cemetery in Granbury, Texas with the Reverends Frank Harris and Dean Porter officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 13th at the funeral home.Mrs. Menefee was born October 10, 1922 in Granbury, Texas to Frank Tom and Rose Lee Williams Harris. She was an avid dancer and loved to play bridge with her many friends at Sul Ross Senior Center. Mrs. Menefee was a supporter of meals on wheels and Caritas. She was a member of Gate Way Baptist Church and retired from the Texas Department of Human Resources in 1987. Her parents, sister, Johnnie Harris and a grandson, Jason Menefee, preceded Mrs. Menefee in death.Survivors include, sons, David Menefee and his wife, Brenda of Moody and Jim Menefee and his wife, Beverly of Lorena, brothers, Frank Harris and his wife, Tink of Granbury and Danny Harris and his wife, Billie Jean of Granbury, grandchildren, Melanie Menefee Rossow, Clint Menefee and Kaci C. Menefee Longoria, great grandchildren, Evan, Connor and Paige and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her very special friends, Lillie Grinis for being such a wonderful neighbor and to Alex Bransford for being such a great dance partner.Memorials may be made to Sul Ross Senior Center or the Lorena Volunteer Fire Department.
