Mary Lou Rincon Martinez, 79, formerly of Waco, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 24, 2008 in Sacramento, Calif. after a courageous battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am, Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Lawrence Soler as celebrant. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Rosary will be recited by Kirk Rodriguez at 7 pm on Friday, Oct. 31, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel. Mary Lou Rincon was born on Feb. 11, 1929 in Rosebud, Texas to Maria Valero and Nicolas Villanueva Rincon. She lived in Waco until 1966 when she moved to Rancho Cordova, Calif. with her husband and family. In 1997 she moved to south Sacramento until her death. Mary Lou was a kind, compassionate, giving woman and a devoted mother. Most of all she loved her family deeply. Her grandson, Bobby, gave her the endearing nickname "Momo" as she has become known to many. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband of 36 years, Jimmie G. Martinez; son, Jimmy Martinez; four sisters; and two brothers. Left behind to cherish her memory are son, Robert Rincon Martinez Sr. of Sacramento, Calif.; daughters, Sylvia Rincon Martinez of Sacramento, Calif. and Carmen Rodriguez of Petersburg, TX; daughter-in-law, Karen Morrison of Sacramento, Calif.; grandchildren, Robert Rincon Martinez Jr. of Sacramento, Calif., Kirk Rodriguez, Johnny Lee Rodriguez and Michelle Martinez all of Lubbock, TX and Jeanette Flores of Petersburg, TX; sisters, Juanita Rincon Rangel of Waco and Amelia Rincon Rodela of Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews who thought the world of her.
