After a lengthy illness Mary Burns, 68, formerly of Waco, went home to heaven on Sunday, March 27, 2005 at a Temple hospital. Services will be at 2 pm on Wednesday, March 30, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with the Monsignor Deering officiating and burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will be from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, March 29 at the funeral home.Mary Frances was born to Joe Vincent and Agnes Barak Jansky in West on August 16, 1936. Mary married Joe Avery Burns on December 11, 1954 and had almost 29 years with him until his death on Oct. 15, 1984. Her life was her family.Also preceding Mary in death were her parents; four brothers; and three sisters.Surviving Mary are her sons, Fritz "Bubba" Burns & Cathy of Mineral Wells, and Ruben A. Burns & Wanda of Hubbard; daughters, Mary Jo Kuropata & Ted of Lott, and Grace J. "Dee Dee" Vernon & Jeff of Killeen; brothers, Jerry Jansky of Waco and George Jansky & Ima Joy of China Spring; sisters, Mayme Lister of Waco, and Caroline Drake & Ronnie of Riesel; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Jace Albright, Shaun Burns, Andrew Treat, Richard Treat, J. J. Vernon and Justin Vernon.
