Margie Lee (Brink) Tubbs, 94, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in Granbury. Service: 11 a.m. Monday in Connally-Compton Funeral Chapel in Waco, Texas. Interment: Rosemound cemetery in Waco. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at Connally Compton Funeral Home.Memorials: The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Hunting's Disease foundation.Margie was born February 18, 1920 in Waco to Lee E. and Eula L. Brink. She married Thomas (Tommy) Rice Tubbs Sr. of Coryell County on August 29, 1942. The union produced three children and 57 years of happiness until Tommy's death in 2000. Margie truly loved to be with family on every possible occasion and made every effort to make sure that all family members got the message to "be there…". She was a whiz at all card, domino and dice games such as pounce, farkle, and especially, bridge. She relished being the "old lady" that whipped all of the young folks in those games. Tommy worked for the U.S. Corps of Engineers and they moved quite often but they always made new friends everywhere they lived. There were no strangers in her life. She just wouldn't allow it. They eventually moved to Ft. Worth and lived there for 45 years. Margie was known mostly as Grandmother even to the neighborhood kids. She moved to Granbury to be near immediate family in 2010.We will all miss her tremendously but we know she's most likely beating the angels in "Pounce" as we speak. Margie was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, one brother and her son Donald Wayne.Survivors include Sister, Virgie of Tyler, son, Tommy Tubbs Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Bluff Dale; daughter, Kay Massoletti and husband Larry of Granbury; daughter-in-law Jeannie Tubbs of Ennis; grand-children Laura, Bo, Kelly, Andrea, Jamie, Charissa, Traci, Brad, and Donald; and thirteen great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
