Minister Lyndia Horn-Davis, 62, went home to be with her heavenly Father Dec.24, 2016.
A celebration of a loving minister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend will be held at 2:00p.m., Saturday, Dec. 31, Living Word Church of God and Christ with Dr. Gilbert Gillam, officiating.
A Wake will be held from 6 to 8:00p.m., Friday, Dec. 31, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors.
Lyndia was born February 22, 1954 in Waco, Texas to Rebecca Davis and Billy Ray Hicks. Lyndia was a hard worker her whole life. She was there for everyone, if they needed a place to stay or food to eat, she was there. If she ever saw someone walking on the side of the road she was always willing to give them a ride. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her family is grateful for her life and her legacy will live on. She is now gone, but will never be forgotten.
Lyndia was an awesome minister, and was proud to have received her ministerial license a few years back.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one nephew who was like a grandson to her, Zachary Davis and 2 great-grandsons, Karmari Edwards and Liam Edwards.
Survivors include her daughter, LaSonja (David) McConnell; grandchildren, David (Niesha) Edwards, Lyndia Stanfer, Jody (Kita) Edward, Cashay (Saqon) Edwards, Marcus (Dorothy) Edwards, Corinthian McConnell and David (Nene) McConnell, Rebecca McConnell and Ashley; grandson/nephew, Dontavius Davis; great grandchildren, Journey Edwards, Ja' Vonte Ross, Aryah Edwards, Daviyar Edwards, and Sariya McConnell. She is also survived by 7 step great-grandchildren; Siblings, Mark Davis, Melvin Davis, Richard (Penny) Williams, Duncan Hicks, Mary Davis, Joenell (Buster) Booker, Sarah Davis, Bebe Davis, Darlene Hicks, and Charlotte Hicks.
