Louis RamirezDecember 11, 1932 – June 2, 2011 Louis Ramirez, 78, of Elm Mott, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 6, 2011 at St. Francis Catholic Church, 315 Jefferson Avenue, with Father Roman A. Burgos, Celebrant. Committal services will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, June 5, 2011, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Jessie C. Garza. Louis was born December 11, 1932 in Coolidge, Texas to Cecil and Consuelo (Suasa) Ramirez. Louis married the love of his life, Rita Ochoa, on January 27, 1954 in Waco. Louis was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Ramirez; great grandson, Ethan Kesada Perez; and brothers, Joe and Felix Castro. Those left behind to cherish Louis's memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Rita Ramirez; children, Edward Ramirez and wife, Esther, Beatrice Ramirez, Joyce Morgan and husband, Richard, Raye Yglecias, James Ramirez, and Andrew Ramirez; brother, Frank Ramirez and wife, Rose Mary; sisters, Anita Gonzales, Grace Fraga and husband, Jim, and Janie Miramontez; grandchildren, Fernando, Leedia, Joshua, Terry, Daniel, Eric, Louis, Victoria Rae, Anthony, Victoria Marie, Michael, Richard, Anthony, David, Chris, Drew, and Matthew; great grandchildren, Zyrus, Bree Carolina, Craig, Kyle, Phillip, Victoria, Robert, Manuel, Jacob, and Jaylynn; and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Daniel De Leon, Joshua De Leon, Eric Ramirez, Fernando Ramirez, Terry Ramirez, and Louis Yglecias. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Castro, John Gonzales, Jesse Moreno, Richard Morgan, Anthony Santamaria, and Michael Ventura. The family would like to thank Chaplain Irenka Vlajnic, Wilda Fowler, Becky Goodwin and Cheryl Lawson of Providence Hospice and the staff of Providence Hospital and Lakeshore Village for the love and care given to Louis.
