Obituary

Lillian F. McKinney, 93, of Waco, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors with the Reverend Kip Osborne officiating. Interment will follow in North Belton Cemetery in Belton, Texas.Mrs. McKinney was born on August 31, 1922 in Belton, Texas to Fred and Etta (Barret) Stroud. She was a dental assistant at Fort Hood in 1942, worked as a sales person at White Department Store and retired from Waco Independent School District as a Lunch Room Manager. She loved to travel, go to the coast, camping, fishing, playing 42, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune but her true love was her family. Mrs. McKinney was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #7. She was a survivor of the West explosion. Mrs. McKinney married William Lester "Bill" McKinney on June 21, 1950 and they celebrated over 33 wonderful years together until his death in October 1983. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 3 sisters.Survivors include her son; Fred Michael McKinney and his wife, Jana of Euless, daughter; Jana "Susie" Jaska and her husband, Joe of Penelope, brother; Fred Stroud of Salado, grandchildren; James Rodney Langlotz and his wife, Shaylene of Golinda, Melissa Esparza and her husband, John Paul of Penelope, Billie Jo Kucera and her husband, Josh of Mt. Calm, Chris McKinney and his wife, Alexis of Bedford, Joey Jaska of Penelope and Jennifer Sembera and her husband, Jason of Penelope and great grandchildren; Keely and Kason Langlotz, Treston and Devin Esparza, Patrick, Dylan, Chance and Jaxon Kucera and August Henry McKinney. The family would like to give a special thanks to Scott & White/Baylor/Hillcrest ICU and Hospice and West Rest Haven's nurses and staff for all of the love and care they provided for Mrs. McKinney.
