Lenora Pack PadgettFebruary 8, 1927 – September 11, 2010 Lenora Oleta Pack Padgett, 83, took the hand of Jesus on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 6:45 p.m. and is now walking the streets of gold. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the funeral home. Lenora was born February 8, 1927 in Aunton, Texas to Edgar and Alma Tedford. Lenora started working for J.M. Wood Manufacturing Company in the early 50's. In 1962 she began working for Owens-Illinois Glass Plant and after 25 years of dedicated service she retired in 1987. She happily married Lonnie Padgett in 1987 and moved from Waco to McGregor. She became a member of Harris Creek Baptist Church and began teaching Vacation Bible School. She also traveled with the church to Mexico to help build a church for a community. Her hobbies included wood working, crafts, ceramics, making wedding cakes, traveling, fishing, hunting and most of all, spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed. She will now walk the golden streets with her mother, Alma Bowen; father, Edgar Tedford; husbands, Grandville Pack and Lonnie Padgett; son, John Dwain Ingram; daughter, Wanda Sue Hoffman; brothers, Ervin Tedford and Doyle Tedford; and other relatives and many friends. Those left behind to cherish Lenora's memory are her son and daughter, Donald L. Pack and Cindy Ann Pack of Waco; son-in-law, Edward P. Hoffman of Bastrop; sister, Juanita Fickel of Bellmead; brothers, Ted Tedford of Waco, Dale Tedford of Plainview; sister-in-law, Barbara Tedford of California; step-daughters, Linda La Frents, Debbie Gillispie, Janette Smith; and step-son, Lonnie Ray Padgett. Lenora is also survived by her grandchildren that she was such an inspiration to, Darvin L. Pack, Anjanette McClain, Lora Bills and Michael Hoffman; along with several great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mike Dulas, Kenneth Fickel, Edward Hoffman, Michael Hoffman, Larry Paul Hollingsworth and Kyle McClain. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Hollingsworth, Dale McClain, Darvin L. Pack, Ted Tedford and Carrie York. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Jeffrey Place Healthcare Center and Vistacare Hospice for the love and care given to Lenora. Arrangements under the direction of Connally/Compton Funeral Directors, Waco, TX.
