Lena (Gypsy) Luttrell Thompson, age 89, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2011 in Waco. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 12th from 6-8 PM at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, December 13th at 10 AM at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. David Story officiating Gypsy was born on April 23, 1922 to Elmer and Frankie (Allison) Luttrell in Oil City, Louisiana. She was a longtime resident of Waco and a member of Richfield Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel John Thompson, Jr. and parents, Elmer and Frankie Luttrell. Gypsy leaves behind her step-sons, Joel John Thompson III and Phil Thompson and wife Gwen; nephews, Robert (Yogi) Ritchie and Raymond Ritchie In Lieu of flowers memorials can be given to the Heart Foundation, Cancer Foundation or Richfield Christian Church.
