Laura Fae Smith HeadOctober 25, 1935 ~ December 14, 2008 Laura Fae Head, 73, of Beverly Hills, went to her home in heaven on Sunday, December 14, 2008. Services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, December 19, at Beacon Hill Baptist Church, 1912 Monte Vista, Waco, Texas with the Rev. Harley B. Gordon officiating. The interment will be at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Leon County, south of Oakwood, Texas. Visitation with family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, December 18, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. Laura Fae Smith was born October 25, 1935, to Mollie Iva Irons and Jasper Nathan Smith on a ranch between Oakwood, Texas, and the Flo Community on what is now F. M. 831. She graduated from Oakwood High School in 1954 and was married to James Nelson Head at Oakwood, Texas, August 15, 1955. During the time when her boys were in high school and college, she, along with some of them, delivered newspapers in the Beverly Hills area. She also plowed gardens with a tiller and garden tractor at various places over the Waco area. In addition, she was a faithful homemaker and church worker. Mrs. Head was a member of Beacon Hill Baptist Church of Waco, Texas, and had helped in the nursery of this and Sanger Avenue Baptist Church, off and on, for about 50 years. She is survived by her husband of Waco, Texas; three sons and their families: James Winford Head and wife, Denise Lavon Luedke Head, and daughter, Sarah Christine Head, all of Waco, Texas; Donald Lynn Head and wife, Lili Lozano Head, son, Paul Nelson, and daughter, Elizabeth Lynn, all of Leona, Texas; and Ronald Glynn Head and wife, Dovie Adenise Matthieu Head, and sons, Jason Daniel and Aaron Michael, all of Lorena, Texas. Pallbearers will be the sons and grandsons, with the granddaughters being honorary pallbearers. The family suggests memorials be made to Beacon Hill Baptist Church, PO Box 9080, Waco, TX 76714-9080
