Larry Motacek, 78, of Waco, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 3, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 8, 2017 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors with Dr. Craig Klempnauer officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Air Force.

Mr. Motacek was born on September 2, 1939 in Belvidere, Illinois to James William and Virginia Marie (Moler) Motacek. He grew up on the farm and played basketball in high school. Larry served his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Motacek loved playing golf and fishing but his true love was his family; the birth of his children and his marriage were his proudest moments of his life. He married Lillie Patrick on November 7, 1987 and they celebrated over 30 wonderful years together. Larry retired from Greyhound Bus Lines and the State of Texas as a Corrections Officer. He also worked security at Mexia State School. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie; children, Brenda and Paul Johnson, Larry and Lisa Motacek and Rick and Diane Motacek; step children, Maurice and Elena Patrick and Byron and Patty Patrick; brother, Don; sisters, Diane, Mary Kay and Marita and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives.
