Kathleen Grace FuentesMarch 14, 1959 ~ March 1, 2010Kathleen Grace Fuentes left this world Monday, March 1, 2010 to go and be at peace with her Lord. Kathy, who is known by friends and family as Kat or Mama Fu, fought to the very last breath a long and lengthy battle with her health. But although her health was a major factor in her life, she didn't let it dictate her life.Kat loved life with all the fervor in the world. She loved her family, she loved to dance and above all she loved the Lord. Even if she was hurting on the inside, she would always "wash her face, comb her hair and put on a smile". Although the norm is to be sad at times such as this, and sad we are, Mama Fu most certainly didn't want that. She wants everyone to be joyous and remember all the good times she had with her family and friends, and revel in the knowledge that she is in a place where she can finally be pain free and not have to worry about anything anymore.Our beloved Kat is survived by her loving son Douglas Michael Fuentes and wife Lindsey, parents Candelario and Eva Fuentes, sister Belinda Ann Martinez and husband Fred, sister Cynthia Sue Garcia and husband Alfred and sister Evette Michelle Blea and husband Don, nieces and nephews Michael, Melanie, Valerie, Isidro, Ricky, Cassandra, Josh, Jeffrey and Jacob and eight grand-nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by brother Candelario "T.J." Fuentes, Jr.Viewing will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Connally-Compton in Waco, Texas with rosary immediately after. There will also be a video tribute that will start promptly at 5 p.m. Funeral will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waco, Texas at 2 p.m. on Thursday with burial immediately following mass at Waco Memorial Park.Arrangements under the direction of Connally/Compton Funeral Directors, Waco, TX.
