Julia Daphine Potter of Woodway, Tx passed away Friday 3/28/14 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. A Celebration of her life will be Monday, March 31 at 11am at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. David Cozart officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park at 12pm.There will not be an escorted funeral procession, so guests are asked to meet at the cemetery following the service. A reception will be held following the burial back at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors in the hospitality room. She was born in Iredell, TX June 5, 1936 to parents Artie Lee and Floyd Walker. She was the eighth born of 12 children. Siblings :Floyd Walker Jr., Jack Walker, Nell Holmes, Ted Walker, Ned Walker, Glenn Walker, James Walker, Harvey Walker, Everett Walker, Peggy Liles and Shelia Chollett. Daphine graduated from Midway HS but attended McGregor schools for many years. She was married to the love of her life W.O. Bill Potter in 1955 and they lived in Central Texas most of their lives. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist and Harris Creek Baptist Church. Daphine was a Hairdresser at JC Penny's and an accomplished floral designer (Daphine's Creations) but first and foremost she was a loving wife and homemaker. Her love and devotion was evident in every meal, 3 layer Birthday cakes, and caring attention to detail. She created a home that was warm, inviting and beautifully decorated always, especially on holidays. Her love of her family filled each room. Daphine is survived by 3 children: Vicki Lands, JB Potter and Reece Potter, 2 daughters- in- law: Donna Potter and Debra Potter, and 5 grandchildren: Emily Potter, Jacob Elkins, Ashley Lands, Bodi Potter and Hailey Potter.
