Joyce R. Shelton, 84, of Woodway passed away on Monday, October 8, 2012 at a local care center. Visitation will be Thursday, October 11 from 6-8 at Connally Compton Funeral Directors. Graveside services will be Friday, October 12 at 10am at Waco Memorial Park.Joyce was born July 24, 1928 in Waco to J.D. and Grace Richards. Joyce enjoyed being a member of Brookview Church of Christ and The Order of the Eastern Star. She was a Girl Scout leader, Avon representative and especially enjoyed being a homemaker.Joyce is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Joe C. Shelton; mother, Grace Richards; and father, J.D. Richards.She is survived by her son and daughter, Richard and Terry of Woodway; sister, Joann Wells of Woodway; daughter-in-law, Robin Shelton; and many extended family members.Memorial Contributions can be made in Joyce's name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the American Diabetes Association.
