Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 19, 2011 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 9820 Chapel Road, with Rev. Cyril Ngbede Ejaidu, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Greg George. After the graveside ceremonies, everyone is invited to a reception at Jordan Hall at St. Jerome Catholic Church. Joseph was born October 17, 1940 in The Presidio, CA, to Charles Edward and Marguarite Marie (Bochnicek) Vesely. Joseph attended Assumption Seminary in San Antonio for 3 years and was a 1966 graduate of St. Mary's University in San Antonio. Joseph married the love of his life, Cathryn Ann Schoellmann, on January 29, 1966 in Nada, Texas. Joseph retired after 30 years of service from the Veteran's Administrative Regional Office in Waco. Joseph enjoyed fishing, running, playing golf and tennis, and just about any activity that would keep him outdoors. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Cathryn Vesely; brother, Charles Vesely. Those left behind to cherish Joseph's memory are his daughters, Mary E. Fowler and husband, Ray, Christine M. Coulon, and Anne M. Anderson and husband, David; brother, Don Vesely; grandchildren, Kristen Fowler, Laurie Fowler, Clayton Coulon, and Adelle Anderson; and other relatives and many friends.
