Johnny Dios Ordonez 68, of Waco, passed away April 14, 2007 at a local hospital. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wed., April 18, at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Sergio Lopez officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be from 6 to 9 p.m., Tues., April 17 with Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery. Johnny was born March 8, 1939, in Waco, to Dionicio and Manuela (Hernandez) Ordonez. After high school Johnny enlisted in the United States Army, transferring to the USAR Control Group (Reinf) VIII US Army Corps on Aug. 16, 1961. During his years of service, he was awarded the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, Marksman Badge and Good Conduct Medal. On April16, 1966 Johnny married Mary Herrera at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Waco and they raised a loving family of four children. He became employed as a Nursing Assistant at the Waco VA Hospital, where he retired in1999, after 27 years of loyal service. He was a member of the Army Reserve and a life long member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Johnny enjoyed his family and going fishing, but nothing made him happier than spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Felix Ordones from Rockdale, TX. Survivors include loving wife, Mary, of 40 years of Waco; daughter, Isabel Villa and husband, George of Waco; son, Johnny Ordonez, Jr. and wife, Margarita of Austin; daughter, Connie Ordonez and fiancé, Felix Suarez of Waco; daughter, Victoria Crawford and husband Kurt of Waco; grandchildren, J. B. Villa, Juanita Villa, Joshua and Jason Ordonez; Daniella and Marisella Suarez; Michael Ordonez and Jonathan Crawford; brothers, Frank Ordones of Ft. Worth; Ernest Ordonez and wife, Alice of Waco and Dionicio Ordones, Jr. of Waco; sisters, Lupe Ordones of Waco and Isabel Moonivand of Austin; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers, Robert Herrera, Phillip Herrera, Benny Herrera, Fred Herrera, J.B. Villa and Michael Ordonez. Honorary pallbearer Frank Herrera.
