Johnnie Eugene Jackson, II, age 55 of Eddy, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023 in Waco, Texas. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Eddy, Texas.

JJ was born on March 6, 1967 to Johnnie Eugene, I and Dixie (Lilly) Jackson in Bloomington, Illinois. He was a longtime resident of Eddy. JJ was a faithful member of First Baptist Church.

JJ had various jobs throughout his life. He was a surveyor, heating/air conditioning tech, painter, custodian, and landscaper at the church. His love for fishing, riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and music varied depending on his mood that day. It might be fishing early morning or riding his Harley on a road trip in early spring. On his more mellow days, he preferred sitting alone in his studio (AKA extra bedroom) and strumming on one of his 12 guitars or just listening to one of 200-plus CD'S of his favorite musicians.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie, grandparents, half-brothers Bruce and Andy and several young cousins.

He is leaving behind a grieving mother, Dixie, sister LaDonna (Phil) Reyna of Eddy, step-sister Sherry (Jim) Sigmon of San Antonio and many extended family members and friends.
