Mr. John Allen Wood, age 56, passed away on December 17, 2015 in Abu Dhabi. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on December 30th, 2015 at Peace Lutheran Church. A luncheon will follow the Visitation from 12 p.m.-1:30 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 30th, 2015 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hewitt with Rev. Stephen Rynearson officiating and interment to follow in Oakwood Cemetery.Mr. Wood was born May 19, 1959 to Woody Lee and Jeanette Elkins Wood in Denver City, Texas. John lived in the Waco area for two years. He worked for ExxonMobil for 30 plus years as a drilling supervisor in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates). John is preceded in death by his parents, Woody and Jeanette Wood. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, daughters, Constance Garnet Wood and boyfriend Tomas Maldonado II of San Antonio, Amber Tennille Hyatt and husband, Jared of Midland; grandchildren: Zachary Michael Evans, Zoey Noel Evans, Piper Lacy Evans and Sydney Claire Hyatt; brothers, Duggan Wood and wife, Brenda of Lubbock, Steve Wood and wife, Tricia of Waco, Larry Wood of Dallas and Richie Wood and wife, Donna of Tatum, NM; nieces: Shana, Angela and Stormy; nephews: Alec and Hayden; a host of many friends.Arrangements have been entrusted to Connally/Compton Funeral Directors, in Waco, TX.
