John "Bubba" Tanksley Jr.December 6, 1955 ~ July 6, 2010 John Bradley "Bubba" Tanksley Jr., 54, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at St. Catherine Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Pastor Jim Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the funeral home. Bubba was born December 6, 1955 in Waco, TX to John Bradley Sr. and Ruby Beatrice (Reynolds) Tanksley. He graduated from Axtell High School where he excelled in football and track. He also excelled in the Rodeo where he was a bareback rider. He was a veteran of the Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents. Those left behind to cherish Bubba's memories are his sons, Selph Lee Tanksley and Bradley Tanksley; daughter, Bo Tanksley; grandson, Jackson Tanksley; sisters, Louise Robinson and husband, Roy, Marty Brown, Linda Machalicek and husband, Jimmy; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends. Pallbearers will be Terry Maxwell, Kaleb Nehring, Matt Nehring, Leo Olson Jr., Michael Olson and Dale Wyatt. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Jon Daniels, Dr. Edward Contreras, Dr. Carlos Encamacion, the nursing staff of St. Catherine Center and Providence Hospice for their love and care given to Bubba.
