Joe LichnovskySeptember 8, 1928 – November 20, 2010 Joe Lichnovsky, 82, of Waco, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 20, 2010. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Waco Memorial Park with Chaplain Greg Knippa, Providence Hospice, officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, November 22, 2010 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. Joe was born September, 8, 1928 in West, Texas to Joe and Rosalie (Pospisil) Lichnovsky. He attended schools in West and served in the Army and was a decorated Korean War veteran. He was retired from the Waco VA Medical Center and was a member of the VFW Post 4819 of West. In 1952 he married Eunice Kruger of Penelope, Texas. Joe enjoyed fishing with his sons, listening to polka music and gardening in his yard. Mr. Lichnovsky is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Lichnovsky and Rosalie Johnson; daughter, Catherine Haberman; and sisters, Helen Lichnovsky and Frances Harold. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Eunice Lichnovsky; sons, Joe Lichnovsky and Jim Lichnovsky and wife, Jeannette; daughter, Loraine Sowders, all of Waco; sisters, Rosalie Tennyson and husband, Frank, of San Antonio, Martha Vahrenkamp and husband, Darryl, of Waco; grandson, Tim Williams and wife, Laurie, of Fort Riley, Kansas; granddaughters, Kristine Bridges and husband, William, of Oklahoma, Melissa Guest and husband, Keith, of Waco; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
