Joanne Martinez, 67, of Waco, died Thursday, August 16, 2007 at her residence. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 22 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors with Rev. John Collier officiating. There will be no visitation. Mrs. Martinez was born August 27, 1939 in Floresville, Texas to parents, Tedo and Mary Rodriguez Garcia. In addition to her parents, a sister, Mary Frances Zavala and a brother-in-law, George Gamble preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Joe Garcia of Waco; one brother, Frank Hernandez of Waco; five sisters, Lupe Schiller and husband Henry of Austin; Delores Rita Gamble of Waco; Angie Medina of San Antonio; Dora Holt and husband John of Waco; Gloria Batty and husband Joe of Sulpher Springs; a brother-in-law, Benito Zavala, Jr. of Waco and numerous nieces and nephews.
