Jo Anne Mabry Kinsey, 88, of Hewitt, passed away on April 6, 2026.
A service to honor Jo Anne’s life will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Waco Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery. Graveside services only on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 1 pm, with Rev. Carl Freeto officiating. Visitation will be graveside only from 12 -1 pm.
Jo Anne was born November 30,1937 in Carnagie, Oklahoma to parents, Heston and Etta Mae Mabry. After graduating High School, she married the love of her life Johnny T. Kinsey, Jr. on March 15, 1958. They were blessed with children, Lesa and John Kevin.
Jo Anne dedicated her life to caring for others through her career as a home health caregiver. She was known for her kind, caring nature, always putting the needs of others before her own.
Her family fondly remembers her as a nurturing presence, always ready with a comforting word or a helping hand.
Throughout her life, Jo Anne was an active member of the First Baptist Woodway Church, where she found a community of faith that supported her throughout her life’s journey. Her hobbies included playing Solitaire, solving puzzles, keeping a detailed daily diary, and most importantly, taking care of her children, which she considered her greatest accomplishment.
Preceded in death by her husband, Johnny T. Kinsey, Jr., her parents, Heston Mabry, Etta Mae Parker Mabry and brothers, Haskell Mabry and Jim Mabry.
She is survived by daughter, Lesa Strickland and husband, CW; and son, John Kevin Kinsey; grandchildren, Bianca Grant and husband, Nicolas, Holden, Analiese and Hannah Ramirez; great granddaughter, Emma Claire Grant; siblings, Harvey Parker, Mary Smart, Janice Baker and Leon Mabry.
In lieu of flowers, family request contributions in her memory to a charity of one’s choice, continuing her legacy of kindness and support to others.
