Jimmie Maurine Harrell, 72, of Rock Creek, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at her residence. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5 at Bosqueville Cemetery with Pastor Allen Grant officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. Mrs. Harrell, a lifetime area resident, was born August 7, 1934 in McLennan County, to parents Levi and Rachael Wright Spence. Mrs. Harrell married Billy Gene Harrell on July 8, 1968 in Waco and together they owned and operated a dairy. He preceded her in death in November 2001. Also preceding her in death were five brothers, Robert Leslie Spence; Edwin (Tink) Spence; Lawrence Spence; Ira Spence and J. W. (Dub) Osteen; and a sister, Blanche Vaughn. Jimmie was known as a wonderful loving mother and me-maw. Survivors include two sons, Raymond Hixson and wife Jessie of Rock Creek; Ricky Hixson and wife Karen of Rock Creek; grandchildren, Justin, Kevin and Amy Hixson; sisters, Ruby Keas of Waco; Bea Young of Newark, TX; Catherine Burtchell of Robinson; Betty Wilkerson and husband Johnny of Ft. Worth; sister-in-law, Pat Harrell of Westminster, CO; many nieces, nephews and friends.
