Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 19, 2010 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Dr. Randy Hughes officiating. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, April 18, 2010 at the funeral home. Jessie was born August 13, 1917 to Charles and Eunice (Grissom) Brown in Mart, TX.She attended Waco High School and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She married Leslie N. Oates on September 11, 1937. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 55 years, Leslie N. Oates; son, Robert "Rusty" Oates; and brother, Virgil Brown. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Norman C. Oates and wife, Jackie, of Aransas Pass, TX; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
