Jessica (Susie) TrevinoNovember 19, 1928 – December 25, 2008 Jessica (Susie) Lopez Trevino peacefully entered the arms of God and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Christmas Day, the birthday of our Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by all her children and loved ones at her home in San Antonio. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 9 pm Fri., Jan. 2 with Rosary recited at 7 at Connally/Compton Chapel. A Celebration Mass will be held in her name at 10 am on Sat., Jan. 3 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2621 Bagby, Waco, TX with Reverend Lawrence Solar as Officiant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Jessica was born Nov. 19, 1928 in Waco, then she and her family moved to Chicago where she completed her education. While in Chicago, she met Frank Trevino, who was also from Waco, and on Dec. 2, 1951 they married. They had four children; Jack, Jill, Jenny and Angel whom she lovingly raised. Jessica and Frank lived in Chicago until 1964 then moved to Los Angeles, CA. In 2000 they moved back to Texas and retired in San Antonio. In addition to being a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she worked many years as a supervisor at Hart Schafftner and Marx in Chicago. While living in CA she owned and managed a dry cleaning business. She was also a nurse. Her husband and her children were the most precious part of her life here on earth. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy and their "Grandma" was always there for all of them. Awaiting her "Home Coming" were her parents, Ymelda and Jose Lopez; two sisters, Mary Ruiz and Ruby Prieto; four brothers, Ralph, Salvador, Raymond and Gabriel Lopez. Jessica is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Frank V. Trevino of San Antonio; two sons, Jack Trevino of San Antonio and Angel Trevino of Chicago, IL; two daughters, Jill Wood of San Antonio and Jenny Powell of Tucson, AZ; four sisters, Dora L. Rocha of Chicago, IL, Hope L. Martinez, Clara L. Corpus and husband Aurelio and Gloria L. Arechiga and husband Robert all of Waco; 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grand children. We will miss our wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, but we thank God for the time we had with her and the joy and honor of knowing her soul lives on with us. She left us to begin the first day of her life and where she awaits our joining her again some day. She will remain in all our hearts until we meet again.
