Jackie E. Golson LedbetterJuly 15, 1926 – May 4, 2008 Jackie Golson Ledbetter, 81, of Speegleville passed away on May 4, 2008 in her home with her family at her side. Visitation will be 7 pm to 9 pm Monday, May 5th at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. Services will be 1 pm Tuesday, May 6th at Connally/Compton Chapel officiated by Rev. Wesley Perry and assisted by Jim Knight. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Jackie was born in Wichita Falls, Texas and moved to the Speegleville area as a child. She attended Speegleville schools and graduated from Waco High School in 1944. Jackie married her childhood sweetheart, Glenn Ledbetter, on May 31, 1947. They resided in Speegleville where they raised their family and were lifetime members of Speegleville United Methodist Church. Jackie worked for many years at the Speegleville Store, and after retirement, the Ledbetters owned and operated Ledbetter Pecan Company at their home. Mrs. Ledbetter was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Jenny Golson. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Glenn Ledbetter, son Garry Ledbetter and wife Pam of Speegleville; son Barry Ledbetter and wife Vicki of San Antonio; son Russell Ledbetter and wife Becky of Scurry; son Craig Ledbetter of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one brother Ernest Golson, Jr. and wife Bernice of Canton and many other family members and friends. Memorial donations may be made to Speegleville United Methodist Church or to the charity of your choice.
