Hulda Mae Johnson, 92, of Waco passed away Monday, March 21, 2005. Services will be held at 3 pm Thursday, March 24, 2005 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Reverend Walter Albers officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, March 24 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.Hulda was born to Marvin Bascum and Mary Marie Morte Grimes in Waco on July 23, 1912. She married Seabe Washington Johnson on Oct. 6, 1933 and was happily married for 33 years until his death on July 13, 1966. She was a loving mother and grandmother who immersed herself in her children's and grandchildren's lives. Hulda was also a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church since 1984.Also preceding Hulda in death were her parents; second husband, W. C. "Buck" Johnson on Dec. 13, 1997; son, Seabe Marvin Johnson on Jan. 26, 1988; step-daughter, Willie Mae Herrin; brother, Alsey Grimes; sisters, Mable Binder & Olga Autrey; two grandchildren, Connie Sue Kimmons & husband Vernon, & John Robert Bigham, Jr.; and two step-grandchildren, Bobby & Jimmy Herrin.Surviving Hulda are her daughters, Betty Jo Gibbs & husband Jerry of Beverly Hills & Martha Bigham & husband John of China Spring; step-son, Wintford Johnson & wife Dolores of Houston; step-daughter, Gaye Nell Johns & husband Roy of Magnolia; eleven grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.Pallbearers will be Calvin Johnson, Seabe Allen Johnson, Larry Raborn, John Kitch, Johnny Lee Binder, and Clint Binder.Special thanks to three precious caregivers, Eva Wilkinson, Roshonda Sims & Irene Tadlock. She was blessed with loving care from Hillcrest Hospice and Dr. James Graham. Thank you!
