At 84, Harvey Pierce of Waco, TX, and formerly of San Antonio, TX, passed away on November 24, 2014.Visitation will be Friday, November 28, 2014 from 11:30 to 12:30 pm at Connally-Compton Funeral Home, 4400 West Waco Dr., followed by graveside services, 1:00 pm, at Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S 5th St, Waco. A graduate of Waco High School in 1950, he was a proud manager for the 1948 Waco High School football state champions. Harvey served in the Navy during the Korean War and graduated from Baylor University in 1958. Through the years, he enjoyed coaching his sons and watching sports, traveling and spending time with friends and family. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence H. Pierce; mother, Catherine F. Dollins; stepmother Ellenor "Ellie" Orea Wilkins, and brother, Dudley C. Pierce.Harvey is survived by his wife of 64 years, Doris E. Pierce, son, Doak Pierce and wife Carol, daughter, LuAnn Pierce Edwards and husband Charles, son, Kyle Pierce and wife Kim; grandchildren, Michelle Pierce Jackley and husband Steve, Matthew Pierce, Austin Pierce, Kelsey Pierce, Mason Pierce, Emily Edwards and great grandchildren, Camden and Elizabeth Jackley.Pallbearers will be Austin Pierce, Mason Pierce, Matthew Pierce, Dennis Livingston, Lamar Livingston, Mark Worley.
