Harlan Lloyd Driskell, 95, went home to be with his Lord June 13, 2016.A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00a.m., Monday, June 20, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors. Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4:00p.m., June 19, Sunday, at the funeral home.Harlan was born in West, Texas on April 21, 1921 to Harland and Nina (Johnston) Driskell. He served in the Navy during WW II. Harlan was the founder of Driskell's carpet and retired from Owen's Illinois after 33 years. He was a gentle yet hard working man. He taught his family many values and great work ethics. Harlan also taught many to stand up for what you believed in. He will be missed by everyone who had the chance to know and love him.He is preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, and one brother.Survivors include his son, Mike Driskell and wife Diana; grandchildren, Krista, Vannessa and her husband David, Rica and her husband Jonathan, Dustin and his wife Erin; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends.Arrangements under the direction of Connally-Compton Funeral Directors, Waco, TX.
