Hallie Haigood Gaskamp, 94, passed away at her residence September 15, 2013. Funeral Services will be Thursday, Sep. 19, at 2:00 p.m., at Connally Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Michael Moore officiating. A visitation with the family will be held Wed. Sep. 18, from 6p.m. to 8p.m. at Connally Compton Funeral Directors.Hallie was born November 17, 1918 to Hugh and Mary (Summey) Haigood in Waco, Texas. She was a faithful member of Robinson Baptist Church where she has been a member since 1950. She was a very selfless person, always thinking of others before herself. On Oct. 24, 1936 she married the love of her life Walter Gaskamp. They shared over 65 years together until his passing in in 2001. Outside of spending time with her family, cooking and crocheting were her favorite things to do.She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Bessie Simons, Pearl Sykora, Ollie Price, and Jewel Witt.Survivors include her sister, Dollie Brown; and several wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her special friend and caregiver Bernadine Irby.
