Guy D. Lowe, 81, of Waco died on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at a local nursing home. Services will be at 1 pm, Friday, March 11 at Beverly Hills Baptist Church with the Reverend Carrol Hambrick officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Parker Memorial Park in Groesbeck. Mr. Lowe is lying in state at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors, but there will be no formal visitation.Guy was born to Jesse Kennon and Maggie Belle Kemper Lowe on July 1, 1923 in Mart.He married Doris Jean Cherry on October 17, 1942. Guy was a longtime football, baseball, softball, and basketball official in the Waco area. He was a lifetime member of the Amateur Softball Association of America and a member of the Waco ASA Umpire Association. He was a member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church.Pallbearers will be Ben Dieterich, Jr., Chris Dieterich, Bobby Lowe, Buddy Wayne Lowe, Brett Merritt, and Bobby Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Bud Gibson and T. R. Taylor.
