Gloria Jean Wokaty died December 11, 2016. She was born to Daniel Maxmillian Wokaty (deceased) and Della Mae Kramer Wokaty(deceased) on August 11, 1934 at Providence Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Waco, Texas. Upon graduation from Waco High School, she worked at Hawk & Buck Industries for 2 years. Afterwards she went to work for Allied Fence Company as a secretary. She retired many years later as Vice President of Allied Fence Company in Waco. In 1967 Gloria joined (WIC) Woman in Construction organization and continued her membership until her death having many offices, including Director of the local organization. In 2005 Gloria received a Kidney transplant after 8 years of Dialysis for Polycystic Kidney Disease and returned to her activities. Gloria was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. For 19 years, she taught religious education classes including Communion and Confirmation classes. In addition, she volunteered in the gift shop at Providence Hospital. Gloria is survived by one brother, Daniel and his wife, Francia of Hewitt and one sister Claudette and her husband Roger of Florence, Oregon. She is also survived by 5 nieces, 1 nephew, 4 great nieces, and 1 great nephew. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8:00p.m., with the rosary at 7:00p.m., Thursday, December 15, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 16, at St Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Waco with Rev. Joseph Geleney as Celebrant.
