Gertrude D. Sanchez, of Waco, was received into the loving arms of our father, Tuesday, May 13, 2014, surrounded by her family. A Memorial/Celebration of Life service was held Friday, May 16, at Brookview Church of Christ attended by family and friends.Gertrude was born June 22, 1929 in Waco, to Benito and Gertrude D. Garcia. Gertrude attended Waco Schools and received her degree in Horticulture from TSTI. She was a loving grandma who loved to spend time with her grandchildren, have family dinners, and travel. She was willing to help anyone in need, even allowing strangers into her home to help them on their way. Gertrude loved her Brookview Church of Christ family.Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 50 years Miguel A. Sanchez; her son-in-law, Jay King whom she loved dearly; six sisters; and five brothers.She is survived by her sons, John and wife, Ginny, Carlos, Jose and Ricky, all of Waco; daughters, Lisa King, of Lorena, and Margie Moore, and husband, Tony of Robinson; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.The family would like to give thanks to the entire Providence Hospice Team for their excellent loving care and support.
