Gerasimo T. (John) Ramirez, 73, of Elm Mott, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 in a local hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Friday, March 28, 2014 at Saint Francis Catholic Church with Deacon Jessie C. Garza as celebrant. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard. Rosary will be recited 6:00 PM, Thursday, March 27th at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.Mr. Ramirez was born on March 5, 1941 in West to Domasio and Gabriella Ortiz Ramirez. He married Narcissa Loredo on October 28, 1961 and they celebrated over 44 wonderful years together before her death on September 3, 2006. Mr. Ramirez worked for General Tire for several years and retired from Alcoa. He was a hard worker, he loved to watch western movies, going to the casinos, visiting his family in Oregon and being around his children and grandchildren. Mr. Ramirez was a member of Saint Francis Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Narcissa Ramirez, sons, Robert and Johnny (Jun Bug) Ramirez and brothers, Tony and Manuel Ramirez.Survivors include his daughters; Melinda Ramirez of Elm Mott and Melissa Ramirez of Waco, brothers; Gilbert Ramirez and Pete Ramirez both of Waco, sisters; Cecilia Martinez of Waco, Martha Suarez of Waco, Susie Ramos of Waco and Vicky Smith of West, grandchildren; Sammy Gallardo, Justin Carter, Andrew Salazar, Joshua Ramirez, Benjamin Ramirez, Christopher Ramirez, Mia Orta and Paul Orta III, great grandchildren; Noah Ramirez, Julian Ramirez, Isaiah and Edgar Gallardo, Ayden Carter and Narcissa Ramirez, special nephew; Ralph (Pache) Alaniz of Lufkin and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
