George Garrett, 48, passed away, surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, August 7, 2005. George was born January 3, 1957 in Waco, to Edwin Foy and Dorothy Marie Hutchison Garrett. He was employed in the long-haul trucking business as a truck driver which was one of the loves of his life, along with his family, watching football and fishing ~ not necessarily in that order, however. George loved living life to its fullest and will be greatly missed.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nellie and Percy Hutchison, and his parents.He is survived by a son, Jason Garrett of Waco; daughter, Peggy Garrett of Euless; brother, Roy Garrett of Waco; sisters, Peggy Butler and husband, Frank, and Kay Eldridge and husband, Guy, all of Waco, and Pat Crawford and husband, Ken of Gholson; several nieces and nephews, and his longtime friend, best buddy and brother by choice, Glenn Willis of Austin.He attended Waco schools and played Northern Little League Baseball. He loved fishing with his dad. When he became a teenager he worked with his Dad in the family business, Buddy's Floors. His hobby was shooting pool with his buddies. He rode bicycles with his sister, Kay. His favorite pet was his raccoon Roscoe. He loved dancing and was the best 2 stepper on any dance floor. His Mother was his favorite person in the whole wide world. He graduated from trucking school, bought his own Big Bad Freightliner and longhauled until the day he became ill. George lost his love for life when he became ill. He was loved by all who were blessed to know him. He is the one most precious treasure in his sister's lives, and he adored them. He also adored his baby brother, who sometimes took life for granted and thought George would never leave this world.George was a great brother, friend, and daddy who will forever be 48 years old.
