Gary A. OsterholtzJanuary 14, 1942 – June 16, 2009 Gary Allen Osterholtz, 67, of Crawford, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Joe Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation with family and friends will be 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, June 19 at the funeral home. Gary was born on Jan. 14, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Okla to Doris Hamm and Dr. W.E. Osterholtz. He married Brenda Sue Bood on June 20, 1964 in Waco. Gary loved cars, home building projects and was a "do it yourselfer" around the house. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years before retiring as a Master Sergeant. Assignments include Texas, Arizona, Ohio, Japan and the Marshall Islands. In 1967-68 he served in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star. Preceding him in death was his mother. Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 45 years, Brenda Sue Osterholtz of Crawford; daughter, Shauna and husband Brannon Suggs of Waco; father, Dr. W.E. Osterholtz of Fresno, Calif; and sister, Wilma Normart of Fresno, Calif. Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, National HeadquartersDonations, 6350 North Andrews Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309-2130.
