Obituary

Gary Lynn Brown, 60, of Waco, Texas, passed away on March 27, 2026. Gary was born on July 20, 1965, in Waco, Texas. He graduated from Connally High School and began a dedicated career working for the City of Waco as a heavy equipment operator. He also worked as an irrigation technician at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course, retiring after more than 20 years of service.

On January 28, 2011, Gary married the love of his life, Sheila Chadwick. Together, they shared 15 wonderful years of marriage. Gary and Sheila spent many years traveling the road as truck drivers, rarely more than 30 feet apart. They were truly best friends who loved each other deeply throughout their lives together. Gary was a man of God—a pastor, a friend, and a compassionate soul who loved everyone he met. He was known as a prayer warrior, and his kindness left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, and proud brother.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sheila Brown; his children, Billy (Lorena), Brandon (Bryanna), and Paul (Britni); his mother, Delores Brown; and his brother, Danny (Katherine) of Newnan, Georgia. Gary deeply loved his grandchildren—11 in total—and shared a special, unique bond with each of them. He was especially proud of his oldest grandson, Zachary Chadwick, for his service in the military. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Cordice Brown; his nephew, Dustin Brown; his brother, Glen Brown; and aunt Dora Meeks.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Waco Memorial. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM, also at the funeral home. Gary’s legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
