Frances L. Hicks, 85, passed away February 18, 2015 at a local hospital with her daughters at her side.Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 23, at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Brother Reggie Blake officiating.The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, February 22, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors.Frances was born August 22, 1929 in Waco, Texas to William and Marie (Arndt) Lehms. She attended Waco High School. Frances married Robert Hicks who preceded her in death after over 30 years of marriage. Frances worked for J M Woods Manufacturing for many years and later retired from M&M Mars. Sewing, gardening, singing, reading and hunting were some of her favorite things to do. She was a strict but loving mother and grandmother.Survivors include her daughters, Ricky Stepp, of Lorena, and Kristy Skinner and husband Johnny of Riesel; grandchildren, Scott Stepp, of Lorena, Melissa Whorton and husband Ethan, of Hewitt, Angie Truett and husband Cody, of Marlin and Johnny "Booger" Skinner, Jr. and wife Valerie, of Whitney; and great-grandchildren, Haidyn Stepp, of Lorena, Ty and Tanner Truett, of Marlin, and Liam, Lance and Shaina Skinner, all of Whitney.
