Frances "Shorty" Colleen Butler, 90, went home to be with her Lord November 16, 2015.A Celebration of her life will be held Thursday, November 19, at 1:00p.m., at Connally Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Brother Craig Godby officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00p.m, Wednesday, November 18, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors.Frances was born July 10, 1925 in Kerens, Texas to Joseph Thomas and Myrtie Lee (Weatherby) Atchison. She attended Waco Public Schools and worked at the glass plant for many years. Frances married the love of her life Dell A. Butler on November 17, 1955. She was a longtime member of the Hilltop Christian Fellowship and volunteer at the Veterans Hospital for many years. Frances enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, old mystery shows, studying the bible, and most of all her family and the good Lord. She is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Dell Butler; daughter, Jeanette Smith; and step daughter, Sandra Langford.Survivors include her sons, William, Louie, and Joe McDaniel; step daughters, Carol Mitchell and Marilyn Winford; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.Arrangements under the direction of Connally-Compton Funeral Directors, Waco, TX.
