Floyce Delle
Morris
Aug 14, 1950 — Apr 30, 2026
It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved wife, Floyce Morris, aged 75, of Waco, Texas, who died peacefully on the morning of Thursday, April 30th, with me at her side. Floyce was born on August 14th, 1950, to parents Glenn and Mildred Suttle in Waco, Texas.
Floyce spent most of her life in Waco. She attended North Waco Elementary School and North Junior High, and graduated from Waco High School with the class of 1968. After a brief tenure with Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator, she attended McLennan Community College, where she earned her RN accreditation.
Though Floyce stood 6 feet tall, her stature was matched only by the depth of her compassion. She touched countless lives with her gift for making others feel comfortable opening up and sharing their hearts. She was a wonderful listener, and all of her friends and acquaintances felt the warmth of her presence.
During her 30-plus-year career—no, her ministry—as a nurse in hospitals across Texas and the United States, literally thousands of people felt her loving hands and heard her comforting voice. Though their contact may have been brief, those who knew her care would surely smile at the memory.
Floyce shared 40 years of marriage with me. Her patience and love were extraordinary gifts I will forever treasure.
Floyce loved Jesus deeply. It also seems fitting to mention a few of her other loves: babies, the Kansas City Chiefs, Baylor Women's basketball, the American flag, Mac and Cheese, watermelon, banana pudding, charro beans, cottage cheese, The Andy Griffith Show, and TV Western reruns. These simple joys were part of who she was, but as you have already seen, she was so much more.
I miss everything about her. But we had those wonderful 40 years together, and I have those precious memories.
Floyce—her smile, her quirks, and her qualities—will be deeply missed by her many friends, relatives, acquaintances, and all those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her husband, Neill Morris Jr.; her sister, Charlotte Kleibrink; her brother, Wayne Suttle; her daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Shad Murphy; stepsons Neill Morris III, Alan Morris, and William Morris; stepdaughter Wendy Kerns; as well as one Aunt, several cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
A memorial service to honor Floyce's memory will be held at Waco Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, May 16th, at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Parkinson's Foundation.
May Floyce's memory be a blessing to all who knew her, felt her love, and loved her.
