Eva Marie Fuentes, born January 26, 1932 in Asa, TX., passed away peacefully at her home with her family April 20, 2015. Funeral Mass of Catholic burial will be at Sacred Heart on Thursday, April 23 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Benjamin Magnaye as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 22, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., with the Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Connally-Compton Funeral Home.Eva was a devoted wife of 66 years, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as well as a dedicated servant to her Lord. After receiving her Associates Degree in Social Work from McLennan Community College, Eva worked as a Social Worker for the state of Texas for over 20 years. In retirement, she continued her work with the N.C.C.W of Sacred Heart Church, as well as serving as an Election Official at polling locations during elections.She is survived by husband, Candelario Fuentes, Sr.; daughters Evette Blea and husband Donald Blea, Sr. of Colorado, Cindy Garcia and husband Alfred Garcia of Waco and Belinda Martinez and husband Fred Martinez of Spring, TX; grandchildren Douglas Fuentes, Sr., Donald Blea II, Jeffrey Blea, Cassandra Blea, Michael Martinez, Melanie Pritchard and Valerie Martinez and 19 great-grandchildren.She is preceded in death by parents Juan and Lucia Garcia and children Candelario Fuentes, Jr. and Kathleen Grace Fuentes.Pallbearers will be Douglas Fuentes, Sr., Ricky Blea, Jeffrey Blea, Michael Martinez, Gary Fuentes, Carlos Olivarez, Ricky Dashner and Michael Olivarez.
